Unity I Am and the North Star Times (for the launch and promotion of Unity I Am),
now available in paperback and Kindle e-book on Amazon

In 2016,
an emerald dragon was born...

... at the soggy roots of an ancient willow tree.

Each a solitary being, they found strength in each other despite their wildly different nature. Together, they represent our four planetary elements: earth, water, fire and air while both find their origins in the fifth: the 'aether'*. (αίθήρ, Aristotle, 384-322 BC)

Willow Dragon Press was founded in 2025 by Monica Reyel for the publication of Unity I Am

Your work and your voice is worthy and important”
―J. Roark, founder and then editor in chief of Frontier Poetry (Unity I Am, 2022 Chapbook Contest; extended since)

Food-For-Thought, Inspiration, Joy & Unity

With more books and other projects to come, Willow Dragon Press is a small publishing house with a big vision for the future.

Not necessarily for itself but the world at large, and not for its own existence but for humanity's. As part of the efforts of many in this world, each using their unique gifts, talents and perspective to lift our planet and humanity up from the divisive swamps it's been drowning in for far too long.

Unable to meet today's 'catch 22'-ish requirements for finding a literary agent and getting published, as well as other developments in the literary world, it wasn't easy to find a good home for her work beyond simply self-publishing. And so, she built her own.

Whether for a handful of publications or to grow into something much larger, it's dedicated to bring food for thought, inspiration, joy, and or a sense of home and unity through creative expressions.

Niche in a sense, yet intended to reach beyond borders: geographically, culturally, politically, social-economically, professionally, as well as belief-systems, ethnicities and personalities.

Possibly even time and space itself. But maybe that's just the dragon talking, inspired by the willow's dreamy nature...

* “Aristotle therefore inferred that the cosmos above the terrestrial sphere (that is, from the moon upwards) was not made out of any of the mutable terrestrial elements but must be composed of a different, unchangeable substance, the fifth element or 'quintessence', which he called 'aether' (αίθήρ).” cabinet.ox.ac.uk

“A lot of ancient philosopies around the globe classify the composition of the Universe into 5 elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether (Space). These are also called the “Panch Mahabhoot”. Knowledge of these five elements helps us understand the laws of nature.” natural-cure.org
